The streets, alleys, driveways and parking spaces located within the security area will be closed and guarded by gendarmes, and metal fences secured by the community police will be set up at the end of the streets and alleys. No vehicle will move or park on the closed road sections, except ambulances and fire engines whenever deemed necessary, cases in which the agent in charge of the road section should be informed and should express his approval. The limits between the two-way lanes for the official motorcades and the public road traffic will be marked by means of traffic separating equipment.
Vehicles can cross the single corridor in the points specially designated for this purpose when there are pauses in the movement of the official motorcades and the shuttles, and the pedestrians can use the marked crossings, which will be controlled by police agents and gendarmes. The traffic police agent on duty in each point is the one who allows the crossing of the single corridor.

The National Security Committee for NATO Summit decided to support the citizens of Bucharest through a public information campaign about the traffic restrictions established in Bucharest during the Summit of the North-Atlantic Alliance.
Information will be available at the mobile information centers, accessed on the Internet (www.cnss-summitbucharest.eu) and made public through direct means such as leaflets distributed in relevant areas.
The public information reports will clearly state the restrictions to be imposed and the days on which they will be applied. The authorities indicate that traffic in Bucharest will not be closed, but restrictions will be imposed for clearly marked areas.
Restrictions will be imposed in the capital city on the following days:
29 March –
traffic restrictions will be imposed starting at 12.30
hrs until 24.00 hrs, during the general simulation. The restrictions
will be identical with those to be imposed during the Summit (single
corridor, the area of the Parliament Palace, Cotroceni Palace, etc.)
The protection and the actual delimitation elements of the secured
corridor will be installed under police supervision, without stopping
the traffic on the nights of 27 and 28 March. The installation of these
delimitation elements of the single corridor will only block the
current traffic on the days and at the hours made public by the
authorities, as they will be installed on the delimitation line between
the lanes. In addition, traffic agents will be permanently present at
the important junctions in order to expedite the
traffic.
30 March -1 April– in this period there will be no traffic restrictions, but security elements will be installed on the routes. Traffic police squads will expedite the traffic.
1 April – 4 April, starting on 1 April, 07.00 hrs, the single corridor will be functional and all the special restrictions will be imposed and are to be maintained until 4 April, 24.00 hrs.
The Single Corridor
The main restriction refers to the single corridor which will be in place between 2 – 4 April 2008. Public traffic will be closed on certain road sections and the route will be secured with dispositions of the Protection and Guard Service, the Ministry of the Interior and Administration and the Romanian Intelligence Service. Bypasses and crossing points of the single corridor have been provided for.
The single corridor will be established from „Henri Coandă” International Airport to the Parliament Palace, as follows: D.N. 1 - „Aurel Vlaicu” International Airport– Presei Libere Square – Kiseleff Rd. – Arch of Triumph – Victoriei Square – Calea Victoriei Rd. – Naţiunilor Unite Square– Naţiunilor Unite Ave. – Parliament Palace.

In order to avoid traffic jams at these junctions, we
recommend that
driving from the eastern to the western part of the city should be done
through Victoria underground passage or in the south of the city,
through the junctions: Dimitrie Cantemir Ave. with Mărăşeşti Ave.,
Tineretului Ave. with Gheorghe Şincai Ave., Tineretului Ave. with
Văcăreştilor Rd.
From the airport to Presei Libere Square, the single corridor

the 2nd and the 3rd traffic lanes, in both directions. Public traffic
will be allowed outside the corridor on the 1st lane, in both
directions.
On Kiseleff Rd., between Presei Libere Square and the Arch of
Triumph,
public traffic will be forbidden on the central section, but it is
allowed on the side lanes. Traffic will be closed on Kiseleff Rd.
between the Arch of Triumph and Victoriei Square and, further on, along
Calea Victoriei Rd. to Naţiunile Unite Bridge and on Naţiunile Unite
