- Calling these numbers, starting on Thursday 27 March 2008, citizens can obtain from the SPP operators information about the traffic in Bucharest, traffic restrictions, deviated routes of the public transportation lines, and other recommendations related to the Summit
The telephone lines are at the disposition of citizens who need information about the routes along which traffic is allowed in Bucharest during the NATO Summit. Information about the traffic, the single corridor, the points in which the corridor can be crossed, the areas where parking will be forbidden and other recommendations for the citizens of Bucharest may be obtained from the operators of the phone lines that can be called directly from the GSM networks 6286 (NATO) - the costs are in the network according to the cards or the subscription - and from the fixed telephone network 080 080 6286 (NATO).
Citizens can also receive information regarding the
deviated
routes of some public transportation lines in Bucharest.
The NATO telephone lines are functional 24/7 and are operated
by psychologists from the Protection and Guard Service.
The Special Telecommunications Service provides technical support for the NATO telephone lines. All the data regarding the restrictions are provided by the Ministry of Defence, the Ministry of the Interior and Administrative Reform, the Romanian Intelligence Service, the Foreign Intelligence Service, the Special Telecommunications Service and the Protection and Guard Service.
