The first lead advance groups for the preparation of the NATO Summit 2008 arrived in Bucharest

The lead advance groups from the 11 countries participant in the NATO Summit in April, arrived in Bucharest in order to be informed on the security measures connected to the event as well as in order to perform field reconnaissance of the security objectives and dispositions.  

Specialiasts in security from Canada, Lithuania, Great Britain, Norway, Holland, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia Turkey and Hungary met in Bucharest with the leadership of The National Commandment for Security; on this occasion they were briefed on the security plans and measures, taken with a view to assuring a good developing of the event in April.

In the weeks to come lead advance groups from the other NATO member states invited, states which are partners of the Alliance will continue to come to Bucharest.
