On Wednesday, 12 March
2008, 10.00 hrs, accredited journalists are
invited to attend a joint training program of sniper and EOD teams from
the institutions which are in charge of providing security for the NATO
Summit in Bucharest.
The forces involved in providing security for the NATO Summit in Bucharest will be training together in Băneasa Shooting Range and in the area of Mioriţa Fountain.
Snipers from the Protection and Guard Service (S.P.P.), the Romanian Intelligence Service (S.R.I.) and the Ministry of the Interior (M.I.R.A.) will be carrying out shooting sessions with telescopic sight rifles in Băneasa Shooting Range. In the area of Mioriţa Fountain, a joint sniper-EOD exercise will be carried out in accordance with a potential scenario for the NATO Summit in April.

Journalists will be allowed access inside Băneasa Shooting Range (the range of Gendarmerie) only if escorted by SPP representatives and on the basis of a list which you are supposed to transmit to the SPP Office of Information and Public Relations no later than Tuesday, 11.03.2008, 13.00 hrs (the list should contain the following data: surname and first name, ID card series and number, publication and telephone number).
