The simulation of the pick-up from „Henri Coandă” International Airport of the delegations that will participate in the NATO Summit represents an important moment of the general simulation exercise.
All the persons and vehicles entering the security area, including cars in the motorcades, cars from the embassies, police vehicles and even ambulances are searched by the anti-terrorist teams of the Protection and Guard Service and the Romanian Intelligence Service.
According to NATO security standards, before the landing of the official aircraft, air surveillance and reconnaissance measures are carried out, and the runway ends and the area adjacent to the airport are checked.
After landing, the aircraft with foreign delegations are guarded by forces of the Anti-terrorist Brigade of the Romanian Intelligence Service, and the motorcades of the Protection and Guard Service, escorted by „Follow Me” vehicles of the Airport Security Service move to the runway in the order of arrivals to pick up high officials from the aircraft stairs.
Today, according to the exercise schedule, more than 60 motorcades are moving from „Henri Coandă” International Airport on the single corridor towards the Summit venues.
