The National Security Committee for NATO Summit - 2008 has been to Constanţa County
Monday, 24.03.2008, 12::01 PM

The members of the National Security Committee for the NATO Summit in April have analyzed today, in the field, the implementation stage of the protection and security measures to be taken in Constanţa County on the occasion of Romania – USA bilateral meeting.

They have analyzed the travel scenarios to the meeting venue for the two Presidents and considered securing traffic corridors designated exclusively for the official delegations, from „Mihail Kogălniceanu” Airport to Neptun resort (E-60 and E-87 European highways). The routes will have the same security dispositions as the ones deployed to Bucharest.

After assessing the security environment, the National Security Committee for the NATO Summit recommended to the local authorities of Constanţa County that outdoors public demonstrations should not occur on 2 April.

As part of the security measures established for the Neptun meeting of the Romanian and US Presidents, special maritime and naval security measures have been taken.

A general rehearsal meant to check the security dispositions to be deployed for the bilateral meeting has been scheduled for the 1st of April.
