The foreign
delegations expected to arrive on „Henri Coandă” International Airport
on Wednesday, April 2, landed in good conditions and were led by the
organizers to the Summit venues, according to the program of each
delegation.
Starting today, Bucharest will be hosting the most important European leaders, among whom the President of France, the Chancellor of Germany and the Prime Ministers of Italy, United Kingdom and Spain. The UN Secretary General and the US Secretary of Defense have also arrived. Delegations from other 30 states, represented at the level of President and Prime Minister, have joined them as well.
For the US President’s visit to Constanţa, all security measures requested by such an important event were taken. They involved forces of MAp, MIRA, SRI, SPP, NATO and of some NATO member states, as well as representatives of the US Secret Service.
Given the conditions imposed by the traffic restrictions for the Summit, no major traffic blockage occurred, except on DN1. Several alternative routes were recommended to the citizens.
The official motorcades travelled on the routes in Bucharest and Constanţa County without any incidents that might affect the security of the planned activities.
Since this contact point became functional a week ago, more than 4,000 persons have requested information regarding traffic restrictions, bypasses and public transportation in Bucharest and Constanţa County.
