In order to avoid traffic jams, authorities recommend that citizens who want to drive from Bucharest towards Ploieşti or towards the mountain resorts in Prahova Valley and Braşov take the following alternative routes:

Towards Ploieşti

• DN 1 A Bucharest - Buftea – West ring road of Ploieşti;
• DN 1 A Bucharest - Mogoşoaia - Buftea, DJ 101 Buftea - Tamaşi - Corbeanca, with exit on DN 1;
• DN Bucharest ring road - DJ 200B Tunari - Dimieni -Baloteşti, with exit on DN 1;

Towards Sinaia:

• DN 71 Bucharest - Târgovişte - Fieni - Sinaia;

Towards Braşov:

• DN 1 A Bucharest - Buftea - Ploieşti - Vălenii de Munte - Cheia -Braşov;
• DN 71 Bucharest - Târgovişte - Fieni - Sinaia, DN 1 Sinaia - Predeal - Braşov.

It is advisable to avoid the Otopeni – Bucharest segment even towards the capital city, and use instead the above-mentioned alternative routes. If this segment cannot be avoided, drivers are kindly requested to observe the restrictions and show understanding.
